Mistakes on return, not lies

By LUCY MILLARD - 13-03-1999

Newark MP Mrs Fiona Jones spent two and a half days giving evidence.

She finished late on Wednesday afternoon when her barrister, Mr Roy Amlot, pointed out she had agreed there were some mistakes on her return.

Mrs Jones said there were three items she would accept - part of a bill for posters, an advertisement in the Advertiser and the cost of a photograph for the election leaflet.

She said that at the time the declaration was made and signed she did not deliberately falsify the return.
