Channel Tunnel carnival catastrophe
Monday 20th August, 2012 - Bowbridge Primary School, Newark
By Dawn Bond
Characters from French history will come alive when the Newark-based Nearly Instant Theatre Session presents NITS Crosses The Channel.
The drama, singing and dance workshops will be run at Bowbridge School in the town from Monday to a week tomorrow from 10am to 3.30pm, and are open to beginners and experienced performers, aged six to 16.
Partly structured and partly improvised it reveals that the Paris Tourist Board is very worried about the lack of tourists. To improve things they decide to hold a big carnival with Marie Antoinit, the hunchback of Nitre Dame and other historic figures. The lorry drivers and trains, however, are threatening to strike. There will be two performances for family and friends on the Friday at 3.30pm and 6pm.
