City date marks end of group’s full tour
Tuesday 25th October, 2011 - Rock City, Nottingham
Enter Shikari
ENTER SHIKARI
To coincide with Enter Shikari’s first full tour of Europe, UK and Ireland since autumn 2009, the band has released a new single, Snakepit, through Pias.
The group — Roughton Reynolds on lead vocals, keyboards, synthesizers and acoustic guitar, Liam (Rory) Clewlow on guitars, Chris Batten on bass and Rob Rolfe on drums and percussion — are working on their third album, due for release early next year.
Enter Shikari will end their tour at Nottingham’s Rock City on Tuesday, October 25. Support comes from Your Demise and Letlive. Chris, 25, said: “We love performing at Nottingham as we have got lots of memories there. There is always a good crowd and an electric atmosphere. “As it is the last date on our tour we will be performing and partying hard, playing tracks from our two albums and the forthcoming one. Snakepit is already getting lots of airplay and we hope it will do well. “Three of us — Rou, Rob and I — had known each other since we were five and decided we would put a band together in 1999. “In 2003 we changed our name to Enter Shikari — after Rou’s uncle’s boat called Shikari — and Rory joined us and we have been performing together ever since. I started off playing the electric guitar and then changed to bass. “Although we loved making music together we never thought the band would take off and I am really enjoying playing and touring all over the place.” Chris said that once the new album was released there would be more touring for the band and as long as the fans still wanted to hear their music they would continue performing.
