Courage is saluted
Hayley Westenra
The Battle Of Britain 70th anniversary tour, featuring Hayley Westenra, is at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, on Monday, August 2.

Hayley will be joined by the Central Band, Regiment Band and College Band of the RAF in a celebration of bravery, sacrifice and freedom.

The concert features some of the most popular music from the era.

The evening will include songs and music such as We’ll Meet Again, Dambusters, Aces High, 633 Squadron, Nimrod, and Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.

The music will be accompanied by inspirational speeches from the time, poems, and narration from a member of Dame Vera Lynn’s family, RAF Squadron Leader Tom Jones.

Hayley said: “It is a great honour and privilege to be singing at the Battle of Britain concerts.

“To be involved in commemorating the sacrifice and courage of the men and women who fought to protect freedom is a wonderful opportunity.”
