Flashback To The 80s/Pop Party In The Park
Friday 20th August, 2010 - Clumber Park
Peter Andre
This year’s concerts at Clumber Park will take music fans back to the 1980s — and then bring them back to the present day.
Flashback To The 80s on Friday, August 20, features a line-up of top acts from the decade of pop.
Brit Award winning singer/songwriter Rick Astley holds the record for being the only male solo artist to have his first eight singles reach the Top 10 in the UK including Whenever You Need Somebody, When I Fall In Love and Together Forever. But he is perhaps best known for his 1987 song, Never Gonna Give You Up, which was a hit in 16 countries. ABC are an English New Wave band fronted by Martin Fry. They charted ten UK and five US top 40 singles between 1981 and 1990 including Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love (Part One), All Of My Heart, and When Smokey Sings. Completing the line-up are pop duo Go West, T-Pau, famous for their hit with China In Your Hands, and Toyah Willcox. Flashback To The 80s is followed the next day by Pop Party In The Park, featuring four hours of entertainment from artists enjoying success in today’s charts. The line-up includes Peter Andre, who is just as famous for his turbulent love life after his appearance on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. He will perform his hits including Mysterious Girl, Insania, Flava, I Feel You, and Behind Closed Doors. Also on the bill is British hip-hop group N-Dubz, who have had eight top 40 hits in the UK, the most successful being I Need You, which charted at number five. The Saturdays are a five-piece girl pop group — Frankie Sandford, Mollie King, Vanessa White, Rochelle Wiseman and Una Healy— who have had a string of hits including Up, Ego, Forever Is Over, Work, If This Is Love, Issues and Just Can’t Get Enough. The line-up is completed by English singer Mclean and girl group Girls Can’t Catch. Both concerts finish with a fireworks finale. |
