Plans to turn book into a hit sci-fi film
Plans to turn book into a hit sci-fi film
Chris McCleod - 230310MW1-1
A carpenter who has written his first book hopes it will be picked up by producers and turned into a sci-fi film.

Chris McCleod, 43, of Fairfax Avenue, Newark, put pen to paper for It’s About Time: Quantum Hopes and has plans to write three sequels.

He said: “The basis of the book was something I thought about a few years ago — who would I save if I was able to go back in time?

“It would definitely have had to have been Jesus and I would have stopped him from being cruxified.

“My time travelling hero, Joe, does this. He makes a time machine, goes back in time and saves Jesus before he dies on the cross and brings him back to the present day.

“He does this as he has to battle to save earth and the cosmos.

“I have sent a couple of copies of the book to filmmakers with the hope that they think it will be a good idea for a film and make one.

“The book has taken me six months to write and six months to re-edit and will be available at the end of April.”

The book will be published through AuthorHouse UK and will be available at Waterstones, Amazon and through google search engines.

Two problems with saving Jesus, 1 he died willingly, 2 he saved himself 3 days later.

One more problem; if you "save" Jesus, who will save YOU?

Jesus did not want to die "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

The "cup" was his death. Mankind then forsook the Commandments of God and became an abomination upon the face of the Earth and so Armageddon will precede the Day of Judgment.

Too right he didn't want to die, why would he!
Mans will is the most potent for good and bad, however the book is actually not about Jesus, it's about mankind mainly, and our ability to make decisions we can proud of, or that will destroy us, in fiction of course.

I said Jesus died "willingly" not "wanted" to die. He died to fulfill scripture, and it was the purpose for his birth in the first place! The verse you quoted showed Jesus was feeling scared (and quite rightly) because he knew he was about to take the burden of all sin, as well as die. In Matthew 26:53 Jesus clearly states, just before he is taken by the guards, that if he changed his mind then several (over 12) legions of angels would come down and stop it. Jesus was in full control, from the beginning right through to his resurrection. Read from John 10:15 through to John 10:18. Jhn 10:18 - "No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." "it" was his life, which is more then obvious if read from verse 15 onwards. I hope this satisfies you.

Two problems here;

1) You can't go back in time, the Laws of Physics don't allow it.
2) Jesus never existed.

I will put this book in my science fiction section, next to my Bible in my general fiction section.

I believe that the person who "Posted on 1:05pm Fri Apr 23,2010", never existed - lol. Of course making such flippant statements doesn't change the fact about whether it's TRUE or FALSE. Opinion about whether Jesus existed or not, does not affect or change the truth. It is highly recommended that anyone who wants to make such bold statements about whether Jesus existed (or not) should first brush up on their history and read books by historians. Try reading books by Talmud, Kleene, Tacitus, Josephus etc. and you'll find that Jesus did indeed exist, regardless of whether you "believe" in him (or his claims) or not. If you doubt the existence of Jesus then you must also doubt the existence of Caesar, Plato, Thucydides, Tacitus, Suetonius, Homer (Illiad) etc. Jesus has more supporting manuscripts than all of these combined (696 vs. 24,000). Going back to the book “It’s About Time: Quantum Hopes”; I’m sure it’s great and very imaginative and I wish Chris McCleod all the best. But it's important we know that Jesus didn't need saving, WE DO!

I know anything with any religious content is sensitive and can be personal, I was careful not to offend with this story, as I respect opinion, and would not care to interfere here,John you are a read man I suspect, and I agree Jesus never needed saving, as he held all the aces all the time, Joe simply understood this, in saving Jesus he saved mankind and the cosmos, but really had no idea of the consequences of his actions. He just hoped for the best outcome, hence the title.
The book is of hope and justice on this world

@Chris I guess this is a potentially very sensitive subject, maybe one that you did not anticipate. But, like John has mentioned, I never meant to put you down as a writer and I am sure this book is a good read, it's just a shame that it is about something that I wouldn't think is right to necessarily write about. Nevertheless I wish you all the best Chris, and if you have written any other books or plan to I might even give them a read ;)
