Starring David Essex, the production, inspired by his album of the same name, is set in the exciting world of an authentic East End fun fair.

David, who is a singer, actor, composer and lyricist, teamed up with Boogie Nights creator Jon Conway to create this rollercoaster ride of a musical.

It is underscored by a helter-skelter of David’s hits including Winter’s Tale, Hold Me Close, Gonna Make You A Star, Me And My Girl Nightclubbing, Silver Dream Machine and Rock On.

In the show David plays fun fair owner Levi Lee, the recently widowed father of rebellious teenager Jack.

Dodgems and motorbikes, crafty cons and candy floss, fairground horses and fights, along with romance and rock ‘n’ roll all feature.

Many of the West End cast will reprise their roles including Louise English as Rosa, Tim Newman, who was nominated for best supporting actor in a musical, as Jonny, and Susan Allam Wright as Mary. Newcomer Rob Compton plays Jack.
