Sounds as fresh as ever
Fresh from his six-week tour of the United States and Canada, Welsh troubadour Martyn Joseph wowed his Nottinghamshire audience on March 13, when he played to a near-full house at Rainworth Village Hall.
This highly original performer, whose style is basically British country rock, gave two hours of high-energy action, with songs ranging from his own compositions to tributes to Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.
He spends much of his time in America where his music is much sought after, and he enthralled the audience with tales of his travels and life over there. His own compositions included Kindness, Brothers In Exile, Sunday Over Cardiff Bay, and Vegas — complete with full-blooded Elvis impersonation. The most popular were I Would Change Your World and What If God Was One Of Us? which had the crowd eating out of his hand — FJC.
