This lady is not for turning
The story of how the country’s first female Prime Minister broke through traditional barriers to succeed in a male-dominated political world is told in The Iron Lady (12A).

With power never coming without a price, this compelling biopic stars Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, who was born in Grantham.

It takes viewers behind the scenes of No 10 Downing Street and Parliament to examine the cost she paid in terms of relationships and happiness, giving an intimate portrait of one of the most controversial leaders in recent UK history.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, it stars Jim Broadbent and Richard E. Grant. The Iron Lady can be seen at Newark’s Odeon.
