A46 road crash victim dies

A man has died after a crash involving three vehicles on the A46 near Collingham.
The 84-year-old Lincoln man was travelling in a Volkswagen Passat when it was in collision with a Mazda and a Toyota.

The accident happened at about 10am on Thursday, September 13, close to the junction with Station Road.

The man was airlifted to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre where he died from his injuries on Saturday, September 15.

Two women, aged 84 and 54, who were travelling in the Volkswagen, were also taken to hospital.

The 84-year-old is in a serious condition while the 54-year-old’s condition is described as stable. Both remain in hospital.

The woman driver of the Mazda was taken to Lincoln Hospital. She suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and remains in hospital.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
