Yes indeed more of our people taken to another hospital and under the watch of Mr Mercer sadly things will most likely continue much the same.
I noticed our MP makes no pledges in his campaign leaflet Newark been labelled a "safe" Conservative seat and so he intends to fight only a marginal campaign.
Where is the incentive or need to fight and struggle for our services when a favourable outcome is all but guaranteed?
In truth I have to question if anyone truly thinks he will remember his position in Parliament is to mainly represent the interests of the people of Newark?
I don't think it's just negligent healthcare agenda I think it's intended and nonchalant healthcare agenda. If nobody is going to fight tooth and nail for our hospital services our people will travel in pain, gasps for breath and die in the back of ambulances taking us away from our hospital that ought to be to some purpose to those in great need. Well, at least Dr Campbell thinks so.
Pravda get on to Mr Campbell and get him to ask the big questions !
1/Cost of review ? Man hours , consultantacy costs, advertising , multimedia costs etc etc . 2/Funding levels for Newark Hospital over the next five years. 3/Statistical analysis that they have done on the the effects of shutting A@E. 4/Average time taken for a a patient in a life threatening condition to reach Lincoln/Kings Mill/ and Queens Med. 5/If the Hospital is to be kept running as they say with more out patient clinics then why not sort the car parking issue ?
Its all very simple.
Less talk from our so called hero Mr Campbell and more direct action !
liverpoolnewark. Just wait for the outcome of the campaign. when you do I will await your groveling apologies. I am involved in the campaign and it would be irresponsible of me to divulge cofidential info
@ liverpoolnewark The big questions are the responsibility of Patrick Mercer not Dr Campbell.
I suspect they do not sort out the car parking issue due to lack of funds. If you want direct action I suggest you contact Patrick Mercer MP again it is his responsibility and not that of Dr Campbell.
Dr Campbell to his credit is the only candidate to ever confront and denounce Patrick Mercer for lack of commitment and intimidation and though Dr Campbell is no hero he is a man of conscience credibility and integrity and unlike Mr Mercer he pledges that, he would not forget his position in Parliament, is above all else, to represent the interests of Newark.
If you should write to Mr Mercer about your concerns do not be surprised if perhaps you receive an unhelpful response written only by his secretary expressing his viewpoint which may seem to completely override that of your own.
Pravda I don't give a damn who saves the hospital as long as someone does and I will have the utmost respect for whoever can make that happen.
You seem and others here to be very anti Mr Mercer while I'm happy to admit that I'm have immense disdain for socialist over bearing beauracratic clowns .
Mr Mercer at Southwell tonightn stated that his constituents came second. His country came first. Surely the concerns of his constituents must come first and foremost. If he is so concerned about his country maybe he should have stayed in the army.
I hope these poor people soon get better and their friends and relatives dont mind travelling to Lincoln to visit them. Perhaps Mr Mercer is too busy writing books on soldiering or visiting troops and commenting on how he would sort out all things military when he should be looking after the needs of the residents of Newark. Stop playing at soldiers Mr. Mercer you are now paid to be an MP! Do what you are paid to do for a change.
Patrick Mercer, said that he would put us FIRST but I think for him it was always the country and the world stage along with power and recognition. I believe that the man betrayed our trust and used us like a stepping stone to advance his own agenda.
Mr Mercer stated that "flying a desk was not up my street at all", perhaps that is why the job of MP for Newark became a partnership with his wife clearly he wanted the authority and the benefits of a politician travelling first-class on the finest gravy train in Britain but I strongly doubt he was ever interested in representing the concerns of a town with his sights set seemingly above and beyond Newark.
I really do believe that we have all been duped twice and if the people vote to reinstate him only to then be duped again, then I think, we really will have the MP that he said we so richly deserve.
