Father set for half-marathon run

The father of Sam White, 15, of Newark, who is undergoing pioneering treatment for a brain tumour, is to take part in the Robin Hood Half-marathon today to raise money for a research centre.
Mr Mike White will raise money for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, which carries out vital work into the condition.

He will be running with his brother, Mr Bob White, of Brighton. Sam and his mother, Mrs Pam White, will be among those in the crowds cheering them on.
