Ghostly feel at Palace Theatre

Paranormal investigators are looking into what happens when the lights go down at the Palace Theatre, Newark.
The Northern Ghost Research and Investigation Team UK, which has investigated Newark Castle for many years, has, so far, spent two nights at the theatre — with interesting results.

The group’s founder, Mr Patrick Firth, said: “Myself and the team feel privileged to have been allowed the opportunity to investigate the historic Palace Theatre for paranormal activity.

“With the support of the manager and staff, the investigations proved fascinating and gave us more questions than answers.

“The Palace Theatre did not disappoint and we hope to be returning soon.”

The venue, built in 1920 by businesswoman Emily Blagg, has a long history of characters and drama.

The upper auditorium is rumoured to be haunted by the spirit of a woman and during their investigations, the team heard voices and recorded high levels of electromagnetic fields, especially in one particular seat.

However, the real activity was downstairs, in the green room and the dressing rooms area.

Although staff have not reported strange activity here, the investigators saw flashes of light, equipment moving by itself and reported being touched, despite no one being near them. A door also inexplicably opened and closed.

Mediums believed the paranormal activity could have been linked to the Chauntry House, which stood close to the site before being demolished to make way for the theatre.

The team did find possible explanations for some of the reported activity, but much more remains unexplained.

During the investigation, the team made video and sound recordings as well as environmental readings. These will be analysed for further evidence.

This is a great article, Northern Ghost Research sounds like they have performed a very thorough and scientific investigation into a well documented phenomenon. I am often troubled by ghosts and they are ruining my life.
