Sam Cook, 11, of Coddington, will perform with 11 other young musicians from the Ro-Ann Music Academy at All Saints’ Church, Coddington, on February 25. It is hoped about £200 will be raised.
Sam has been playing the piano for about three years and the trumpet for 18 months.
He said he was inspired to organise the concert by his music teacher, Angela Smith, who has organised and performed in many.
“I just wanted to raise money to help those who are terminally ill,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to it and I would like to thank all of those people who have helped.”
Angela Smith said the musicians would play everything from boogie to Bach, meaning there was something for everyone to enjoy.
“I like students to play what they want to as then you get the best performances from them,” she said.
“Young people get such a bad press but Sam is a great example of what young people can be and needs recognition for that.
“We have been rehearsing a lot and it is going well.”
Angela Smith is also part of a fundraising effort to raise £2,500 for the hospice by the end of the year to mark the charity’s 25th anniversary.
The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available at the door. Refreshments will be served.
