A mother has been inspired to set up her own online business by baking with her daughters.
Mrs Jo Shaw was inspired to set up her online cake decoration business, Just Bake, after baking with her daughters, Anna, 9, and Ellie, 5. (160112MW5-4)
Mrs Jo Shaw, 38, of Dornoch Avenue, Southwell, launched Just Bake because she found it difficult to find exciting decorations for the cupcakes she made with her daughters, Anna, 9, and Ellie, 5.
Her website features a range of cake decorations such as sprinkles and hundreds and thousands as well as cupcake cases and other items.
Mrs Shaw said: “I started the business just because I have a love of baking at home with my children.
“I wanted more choice in sprinkles and things than you can get from the supermarket.”
Mrs Shaw, who works in marketing for the energy company Eon, first started baking with her mother when she was a child.
She said: “Baking is something I always did with my mother and so now it seems like a natural thing to do with my own children.
Mrs Shaw said her daughters were excited about the launch of the business.
She said: “They love it. They keep telling their friends about it and when they come home from school they ask if there have been any orders.
“I enjoyed setting up the business. Going through that process has been good fun, and it is always good working on something you enjoy.”
