Pool re-opening delayed
3:18pm Tue Jan 03, 2012

The swimming pool at the Dukeries Leisure Centre, Ollerton, is to remain closed while further repairs are carried out.
The pool was closed for two weeks over the Christmas period for repair work and it was hoped it would re-open in the new year.

However, a further inspection has revealed that more maintenance is required.

Newark and Sherwood District Council's systems manager for leisure centres, Mr Martin Picker, said there was currently no set date for the re-opening.

"We wish to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused," he said.

"The college is working hard to rectify the problem with the pool and is equally eager to ensure it is open as soon as possible, for community use and school swimming."

For more information on the closure call 01623 867820 or email dukeries.leisurecentre@nsdc.info.
