Balloons, lollipops and flyers were handed out to shoppers to promote their version of the musical Annie, which will be staged at the Palace Theatre, Newark, from Tuesday.
Justin Day, who plays Rooster, said that tickets were selling well and to date they had sold about 2,350, around 150 more than at the same time last year.
Tickets are still available for all shows, although the Saturday matinee has been extremely popular.
More than 80 people are involved in the production, including a cast of about 50.
There are 26 girls who have been divided into two teams of orphans.
The role of Annie will be shared by Amber Ackerman and Megan Harman.
Adele Lebeter, who plays Lily St Regis, said she hoped people would go along and enjoy the show: “It’s a great show with lots of local talent.”
Annie runs from Tuesday until Saturday. Tickets are available from the Palace Theatre box office.
