Traffic flow changes in place
3:13pm Wed Jan 18, 2012
The road between the old and new Saxondale roundabouts near Bingham has been put into a traffic contraflow as part of the latest phase of the A46 dualling project.
The changes to the short section of the A52 will be in place for around eight weeks.
It will allow the section of road near the old roundabout, which has been running on a temporary layout, to be re-constructed.
Highways Agency senior project manager Mr Geoff Bethel said: “We anticipate both of these changes will cause some delays for road users so we would advise them to allow extra time for their journeys.
“Due to the change in road layout and diversion routes, follow the road signs rather than relying on their sat navs.”
From Sunday, the A46 southbound entry sliproad from the A606 was closed for around six weeks.
The closure will allow the new extended Widmerpool roundabout to be completed.
Traffic will be diverted northbound along the A46 to the Owthorpe junction where it will be able to rejoin the southbound carriageway.
Up-to-date traffic information for the whole of the Highways Agency’s road network is available online at www.highways.gov.uk/traffic or on 0300 123 5000.
