The new police beat officer for Bingham is looking forward to getting his teeth into his new role and helping to reduce crime levels further.
Pc John Reason.
Pc John Reason took over from John Kneale, who retired in December.

A police officer for 28 years, Pc Reason has worked in West Bridgford, The Meadows and Clifton.

He spent the past ten years as beat manager for Cotgrave, where crime and anti-social behaviour reduced dramatically in recent years with the introduction of the Positive Futures project as well as work undertaken by the police to communicate with youngsters.

“My main aim in coming to Bingham and the surrounding villages is to further reduce crime and disorder as well as anti-social behaviour,” he said.

“I would like to feel in my time here we will see a further drop and bring about an even greater confidence in the police among the town’s residents — building upon the excellent work done by my predecessor.”

“This is a fresh new challenge and something I am very much looking forward to.

“It is something to get my teeth into.”

During his time in Cotgrave, Pc Reason said he held regular meetings with different agencies including Rushcliffe Borough Council and Cotgrave Town Council.

“Working in partnership is the way forward,” he said.

“We need to be able to work out what the problem areas are and what can be done to address them.”
