Woman cyclist injured in car accident

A woman cyclist broken ribs and a broken collar bone in a collision with a car on the Beech Avenue/Devon Road junction in Newark on Saturday.
The woman, in her late 70's, was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham by air ambulance at 10.23am.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said the woman's injuries were first thought to be much more serious.

Devon Road and Beech Avenue were closed in both directions while police carried out investigations into what happened.

The air ambulance landed at Cleveland Square at 10.15am.

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 318 of March 16.
