Hunt grumble
12:27pm Thu Nov 25, 2010
I am writing to complain about the Grove and Rufford Hunt which met a couple of weeks ago in Edingley.
During the ride the hounds gathered outside my garden and then crashed through the fence, barged across the garden into my field and just about anywhere else they fancied.
There were more than 20 of them. It was chaos.
The hunt organiser apologised and, in fairness, he did so in person.
If the hounds pick up a scent and charge into your garden (where incidentally we have dogs, chickens, and very small children) then what can we do?
I have a dog that is 15 years-old, deaf and can hardly walk at times. She was at the other end of the garden when the hounds came in.
The hunt organiser said his hounds would never hurt a dog but I can’t say I’d have liked to have found out.
They should not hunt near gardens.

As you have chickens I hope the fox does not get in and kill the lot of them, now that hunting foxes has ben banned it is a very likely prospect, whereas before you might have been thanking the hunt or the fox control they providd.
