Theatre tour treat
3:22pm Wed Jan 18, 2012
I recently conducted a tour of the Palace Theatre, Newark, for 60 children from Bowbridge Primary School, Newark.
The seven and eight-year-olds were in the theatre for almost two hours and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
They asked lots of questions and were very keen to learn about the history of the theatre.
They were very excited to be allowed on to the stage, to see the safety curtain rise and fall, and to tour the dressing rooms.
Throughout the tour the children behaved impeccably and I would like to congratulate the teachers, both those at the school and those who brought the children to the theatre.
It was nice to see the children show respect for their teachers and theatre staff.
Sadly, this is not always the case with large groups of children, so well done Bowbridge school.
