200 riders expected at point-to-point
8:00am Sun Jan 29, 2012
More than 200 riders are expected to take part in the Midlands Area Club point-to-point on Sunday.
The event at Thorpe Lodge will have at least seven races.

High entries of 42 for the Sharp Nutrition Restricted Race and 69 for the Maiden Race may see them split to create a nine-race card.

The first race is the Castle Rock Brewery Area Club Members’ Race for the Mark Ashton Memorial Trophy, open to horses that have qualified in the Midlands area.

This will be followed by the Intermediate Race, a qualifier for the Connolly’s Red Mills Intermediate Point-to-Point Championship Final Hunter Chase, at Cheltenham in May.

The Novice Riders’ Race will be third followed by the Men’s Open Race.

Fifth will be the Sharp Nutrition Restricted Race, followed by the Ladies’ Open.

The last race is the Maiden Race.

Tickets for the racing, which starts at 11am, are £10 for adults.

Entry is free for children under 16.
