Advantage to Youngers in cup

The Newark Working Men’s Club Youngers have one foot in the final of the Newark and District Double Board Darts League’s Knockout Cup after they secured a 3-1 victory in the first leg of their semi-final against the White Swan Cygnets.
The holders had comfortably swept into a 2-0 lead with a finish apiece from Annice Wells and Linda Gregory.

The third leg was a much tighter affair but it was Gregory who struck again after the Cygnets’ Louise Fletcher had failed to take her opportunity to reduce the deficit.

The White Swan kept their hopes of a second cup final appearance in three seasons alive when Jenny Tooley struck double one after both sides had seen chances come and go.

The 2009 cup winners, Cafferatas of Balderton Working Men’s Club, have a real fight on their hands if they want to regain the title after they suffered a 3-1 reverse against the Newark Working Men’s Club Avengers in the other semi-final.
