Newark AC produced their best performance of the season at Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire to become Northern League Division 4EC champions and gain promotion.

Newark finished the day 161 points clear of second-placed Hallamshire Harriers from Sheffield and won a total of 29 events on the day, including all four relays.
For the men on the track, first places were achieved by Aaron Burns in the 800m A (2mins 10.10secs) and 1500m B (4-38.30, pb) Oli Carrington in the 800m B, Tim Bagguley in the 400m B hurdles, and Richard Peach in the 3,000m B steeplechase.
In the field first places were picked up by Tim Bagguley in the pole vault A (2.40m, pb) Simon Langley in the discus A (32.98m) hammer B, high jump B and javelin B.
Craig Rodwell followed suit in the hammer B, and there were also first places for Tom Beaumont (long jump A, high jump A and javelin A) Paul Smith (shot B) Peter Carrington (long jump B and triple jump B) and Daniel Barrie (pole vault B).
