Blues making more history

A week after RHP Social became the first Newark side to win the Notts Sunday Senior Trophy, Newark Town became the first team from the town to make it into the final of the Central Midlands League Cup.
Wednesday night’s semi-final against Calverton Miners’ Welfare at Ollerton Town saw Newark go ahead after five minutes when Martin Wilson headed home a Dave Issott free-kick, but the Blues then missed a string of chances to extend their lead.
