Champion Harston wins the battle of in-form fishermen
3:14pm Tue May 31, 2011
Collingham's latest match on Millennium Fishery attracted a field of 33 and, with Centenary having a serious off day for whatever reason, the top six all fished on Willow Lake.
That venue produced a fascinating toe-to-toe scrap between club champion Darren Harston and the in-form Paul Cowling on the next peg.

They were on pegs ten and 11 respectively, with Cowling edging in front after an hour. But, switching between method feeder to the island and pole down the edge, Harston prevailed with 55-11-0 to Cowling’s 45-10-0.

To show the ability of these two, the anglers either side of them, on pegs nine and 12, didn’t weigh in.

After that things got very tight, with Wayne Smith on peg 24 including 25lb of skimmer bream in his third-placed 41-2-0.
