Champions set their sights on the double

Newark Hockey Club ladies’ 1st XI had a mixed weekend by their high standards this season.

After a stroll to the Notts Premier League title which had seen them clinch the championship with four games to play after 16 straight wins, they were held for the first time on Saturday when Beeston 3rds earned a 1-1 draw at Magnus Sports Centre.

But the following day saw the ladies win 3-0 at home to Worksop in the Notts Cup to set up a date in the final — with Beeston 3rds.
