Chance for club to make amends
9:06am Wed Sep 08, 2010
Newark Rugby Club should be strengthened on Saturday by the return of several players who missed the opening day 28-5 defeat by Matlock at the weekend.
Club captain Harry Pick, centre Alex Moore and goal kicker Jamie Eveleigh are expected to be in the line-up for the visit of Wellingborough to Kelham Road (3pm).

Newark will expect a much more coherent display against Wellingborough after struggling from the start against Matlock.

The visitors led 9-0 at the interval through three penalties, but the struggle turned into a nightmare after the interval when Newark conceded three tries in a spell that ended in Matlock leading 28-0.

The only joy for a big home crowd was a late consolation score from full-back Joe Cormack.
