The Newark Working Men’s Club have reason to celebrate after two of their teams retained their titles in the Newark and District Double Board Darts League.
The Archers wrapped up their fifth consecutive Premiership title with two games to spare after a 6-3 victory over Bathley Outcasts.

Mick Pitchford, who has suffered just one defeat all season, led the way for the champions with another three victories which gives his side an unassailable 37-point lead at the top.

The battle for the runners-up spot looks as if it will go down to the wire after the Horse and Gears Lost Boys, spearheaded by three victories from captain Kevin Oxberry, won 7-2 against in-house rivals Two Men and a Baby to leave themselves, the Outcasts and The Power separated by just five points.

At the bottom it was a great week for the Castle and Falcon Veterans after they recorded their first win of the season against the Fun Boy Three, with Mick Bayliss and Stuart Smith picking up three wins apiece in their terrific 6-3 victory.
