A fair-sized crowd witnessed some excellent racing at the Midlands Area Point-to-Point at Thorpe Lodge on Sunday, with 67 runners contesting the seven races on good to soft ground.
There were 13 runners for the Mark Ashton Memorial Midlands Area Club race, with the luck holding with 5-1 joint favourite Super Lord, ridden by Stuart Morris, coming with a strong challenge after the last fence to beat Point Proven.
