Fighters set for rematch
8:00am Sat Dec 03, 2011
Tonight sees Newark middleweight Andrew Lowe face fierce rival Harry Matthews for the vacant British Masters Middleweight title.
Carl Greaves Promotions The Rematch at the Grove Leisure Centre, Balderton, sees Lowe, 31, step into the ring for a third time with Matthews.

The previous bout ended in a controversial draw, referee Phil Edwards judging it 95-95 despite Lowe’s camp believing they had won.

Lowe, whose record reads 8-6-1, is also looking to avenge a ten-round points defeat by Matthews in October 2010.

The 23-year-old Yorkshireman, nicknamed The Pocklington Rocket, goes into the fight with a record of 11 wins, three losses and one draw.

On the undercard, Navenby’s Ryan ‘Fearless’ Clark, 22, takes on unbeaten super middleweight Ricky Gammon.

Greaves-trained Jake Dyer, 26, of Peterborough, fights Portsmouth’s Ricky O’Sullivan, 26 in a four three-minute round contest while Norwich’s Nathan Bale, 20, a natural welterweight, fights Liam Griffiths, 24, of Bognor Regis, in a middleweight contest.

Gilson de Jesus, of Nottingham, steps into the ring for the first time against Guildford’s Louis Byrne, 26.

Doors open 7pm. First bell 8pm.
