Charlie Bentley, 15, of Normanton-on-Trent, won the annual two-round Titchfield Trophy, beating competition from more seasoned senior players.
Earlier this year Charlie emulated the feat of his father Chris, by winning the club’s Junior Cup.
Charlie said: “It feels great to have won my first senior cup. I knew I had a good chance of doing well but it came as a real surprise to win.
“I started my second round with eight shots on the first hole, which I thought would ruin my chances, despite being ahead at the halfway mark.”
At the weekend Charlie was one of five young golfers from the club to be assessed by the Woodhall Spa National Training Centre team for a place in the Nottinghamshire county side.
Chris Bentley said: “If he can get selected to be a part of the county squad as he continues to progress it can only be good for Charlie and Newark Golf Club in the long run.”
