Games postponed

The weekend sporting schedule was once again ravaged by the bad weather.
As well as Newark Town’s visit to Yorkshire Main, Southwell City’s trip to Easington United, in the Central Midlands League, was also postponed.
Newark Alliance football fixtures were all called off, as was the New Newark Youth League and the Grantham and District Saturday Football League.
League leaders Newark Rugby Club were once again frustrated as they had to put off their clash against third-placed Oakham for the second week running in the Midlands Division Two East (North).
In the fourth division Southwell’s home game versus Chesterfield was also off.
Hockey didn’t escape either, with Newark men’s and ladies’ teams having to call off games.
