Good arrows! Todd hits the bullseye

Mick Todd from Newark has qualified for the 2011 PDC Pro Tour after four tough days at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.
Todd, who has only been playing competitive darts for 18 months, qualified on the final day on Sunday, having only dropped nine legs in five games.

He beat Andy Pearson, Kevin Bambrick, Chris Aubrey and Michael Nott to reach the last eight, and a 6-3 defeat of Andy Brown sealed his tour card.

“It’s brilliant. It’s made all the practice worthwhile,” he said. “I started up again 18 months ago, and just took it from there, really.”

Todd plays for the Castle and Falcon BBC in the Newark and District Treble Board Darts League.

He played darts until the age of 17, but then packed in to concentrate on his football.
