Within an hour of the start of Collingham’s match at the Millennium Fishery on Sunday, it was suggested that the club set up a direct link to Darren Harston’s bank account to save him having to collect his winnings.
The 39-pegger was turned into another procession from peg 32 on Willow, with Harston fishing a method feeder to take carp for a weight of 71-14-0, which also won the golden peg money.
Runner-up was Paul Holland on peg 26 on Willow, swapping between pole and feeder for 55-4-0, while Paul Cowling was on the same lake on peg 16 and he weighed a level 40-0-0 for third place.
Malcolm Nicholson was on peg 22 on Willow where he fished caster on the feeder for 37-5-0 and fourth spot, while the top weight from Centenary was Keith Archer with 32-14-0 from peg 15. Ced Baldwin was sixth with 31-10-0.
Collingham also had 39 anglers for their visit to Messingham Sands on Island Lake.
Drawn near the end of the spit, Harston only had a few fish with 11/2 hours to go, but then they moved in and, alternating between the method feeder and big pellet on the bomb, he took 15 carp for a total haul of 119-2-0.
