Hubbard bags up at Janson’s

Robert Hubbard from Newark produced his personal best haul when he landed 71lb 11oz in a Costcutter Open match at Janson’s Fishery at Whatton.
All the fish were caught on corn and, as usual, all the rigs were set up by Nigel Lale who is Hubbard’s angling coach.
The weight wasn’t quite enough to earn him a section win, but his coach finished third in the match with 165-4-0.
Currys AC fished on Moon Lake at Tattershall and the winner, Barry Young, had to have his weight rounded down as he was over the fishery net limit in one of his nets. But he still had enough in reserve with the 91-6-0 he was allowed.
Chris Young was second with 63-7-0, Mark Cree third with 56-11-0, and Lionel Garrad fourth with 45-6-0 — a weight that included a proper carp of 21-13-0.
