Ladies march on as men are left in lurch

The Newark Hockey Club senior teams suffered mixed fortunes at the weekend.
While the men’s 1st XI went down 3-2 at home to new leaders Coalville and took a step closer to the drop in East Midlands One, the ladies’ first team made it 14 wins out of 14 at the top of the Notts Premier League to all but book their place in the Midlands League next season.
