Mierkalns stars for Caythorpe

After a slow start to their Notts Premier League season, Caythorpe are now building a reasonable campaign record.
This continued when they took full points from a 141-run win away at Wollaton, with former Notts man Josh Mierkalns the star of the show.
The visitors smashed their way to 272 for five in the first innings, thanks mainly to a magnificent 159 not out from Mierkalns, who struck 16 fours and six sixes in the 151 balls he faced.
Jim Hindson has been in solid form with the bat recently, and that continued as he chipped in with 50.
Wollaton were never really at the races in their reply and were dismissed for 131 inside 38 overs, with James Goodrich the only batsman to make his mark with 50.
Stephen Randall (three for 25) and Ben Phillips (three for 35) were the pick of the bowlers.
