Mixed news for river returns
9:05am Tue Jun 21, 2011
The angling river season has kicked off with some mixed results for our local clubs.
On Sunday Collingham had 28 members fishing on pegs 70-89, 160-180 and private pegs. As usual, it was vital to be on the private pegs.

Some accuse Darren Harston of having more than his share of luck in the drawbag, and that may be true, but he can’t half fish.

Having pulled out private peg eight, he used a maggot feeder to take 20-odd barbel to 9lb for a new club match record weight of 151-0-0.

Runner-up Ian Donaldson also cracked the magical ton barrier on private peg six, also using a maggot feeder for 109-2-0, and Keith Archer was third on private peg five with 52-8-0.
