Newark pairing clinch county Handicap title

Newark Golf Club duo Daniel Oliver and James Larking won the Notts Golf Union Wardman and Carr Handicap Trophy at Ramsdale Park Golf Club, Calverton, with a better-ball nett score of 64.
Oliver and Larking play off 14 and 28 handicaps respectively, and they finished two shots clear of four pairs tied in second place with a nett score of 66, including Killian Ryan of Coxmoor and Oakmere Park’s Ben Hanbury.

Southwell Golf Club ladies’ section’s Open Am/Am was well attended and produced some good scores.

The winning team was the Grassmoor Golf Club foursome of Sandra Walters, Joyce Waring, Elaine Bodsworth and Diane Revill with 91 points. Second place went to the team of Maureen Todd and Carole Eccles of Southwell and Jane Bacon and Zena Mazey of Radcliffe with 86 points, while Anne Lissaman and Pam Longden of Southwell along with Viv Gibson (Newark) and June Howard (Canwick) were third with 83 points.

Nearest the pin with her second shot on the ninth hole was won by Sandra Walters of Grassmoor, and most accurate drive on the 17th hole was by Charlie Hall of the host club.
