Postponed match puts Newark's hopes on ice
9:03am Thu Feb 04, 2010
Newark Rugby Club travel to Old Northamptonians tomorrow hoping to re-start their season after a third Midlands One East league match was postponed at the weekend.
STEVE HODGES of Newark Rugby Club 4th XV is pictured on the ball in the match at home to Tupton 2nds at Kelham Road on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue and Whites had been hoping to maintain their climb up the table after getting back to winning ways at home to Stewarts and Lloyds the previous week following the long weather-enforced lay-off, but the match away at Leicestershire side Syston was called off 15 minutes before the scheduled kick-off.
