Paralympic powerlifter Natalie Blake is part of the Great Britain squad set to travel to the Middle East this week for the IPC Khorfakkan International Championship.
Newark-based Blake, who owns and trains out of Affordable Fitness, Farrar Close, will be competing in the third edition of the annual tournament, attended by some of the world’s best powerlifters from October 15 to 19.

Participants include 14 medallists from the Beijing Paralympics in 2008, and 21 who won medals at the 2010 World Championships in Malaysia.

British weightlifting performance manager Fiona Lothian said: “This is a great chance for Natalie to get valuable experience of competing on the world stage. They will get to see what they potentially could be up against in London 2012.”
