Newark Athletic Club's youngsters rewrote the record books at the fourth and final Notts Mini League meeting of the season at Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Newark AC finished third overall and the club had further reason to celebrate when two of their athletes set new Mini League records.
Under-11 Chantelle Haywood could not contain her delight at breaking the high jump record with a leap of 1.22m, while under-13 Charlotte Ripley broke her own record in the long jump with a stunning 4.45m — an AAA grade one performance.
The under-13 girls’ team has been strong all season and eight athletes ensured victory in the age- group for the season.
As well as Ripley’s record-breaking victory in the long jump, there was a win for Olivia Mathias in the 800m (2mins 32.80 secs — grade three) and a second place for Molly Ripley (14.60secs) in the 70m hurdles. The other five girls achieved personal bests — with Asia Moody’s 13.62m in the javelin (fourth) Eden Sandy’s 30.40 secs in the 200m (fastest guest performance and a grade four) Chloe Rowberry’s 3mins 01.40secs in the 800m, Keating Walters’ 3.67m in the long jump and Amber Owens’ 3.03m in the same event.
