Southwell, who were enjoying a mini revival in their South Notts Division A campaign, came a cropper when they crashed to a heavy defeat at home to Rolls Royce Leisure at the Top Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The home side batted first, with skipper Tim Green (78) sharing an opening partnership of 84 with Matt Davis (33) and then taking the score to 167 for two with Sam Johnson (43).
But only the extras column reached double figures after the departure of the top three and the Southwell side staggered to a final total of 202 for seven from their 45 overs.
The visitors made light work of their reply and reached their target for the loss of just three wickets as Raheem Karim (57) Waseem Karim (50) and Mahoob Elani (41*) led the way. Jim Scott was the pick of the home attack with two for 40 off his ten overs.
Balderton also suffered a setback as they were bowled out for just 53 in 20 overs in their Division A match at leaders Plumtree.
