The Sean O’Grady Cup at Newark Golf Club was keenly contested, with just one point separating the top eight places in the stableford competition.
Countback was needed to decide the entry into the Howitt Cup, with the first five places going respectively to Paul Johnson, Ben Hazzledine, Thomas Scullion, Mark Washington and Malcolm Wood after they all scored 68 points.

Scoring 69 points, and occupying positions six to eight respectively, were David Yarnell, Kevin Ferguson and Mark Ferguson. The lowest gross score of 73 went to Matthew Harrison.

Newark golfers Richard Borrill and Richard Sills played their third round of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition against a pairing from Lincoln Golf Club at Newark.

The Lincoln pair were Ian Paterson (12 handicap) and Richard Crossley (15) and they started well, with Borrill and Sills two down after three holes.
