Top four crack magical ton barrier at Janson’s

The top four anglers in Newark Working Men’s Club’s 25-peg match at Janson’s Fishery at Whatton all landed more than 100lb of fish.
The winner was Mike Cliff who fished maggot on peg eight to weigh 137-1-0, while runner- up Mark Neal fished the same bait on peg 36 to weigh a level 132-0-0.

Third-placed Daryl White also used maggot on peg 26 for a catch of 102-9-0, while Alan Atkinson swapped between pellet and maggot for fourth place with 101-14-0.

A Monday evening three- hour match at Leon’s was won by guest superstar Arthur Rigley with 52-2-0 of carp taken on paste. Tomorrow evening’s match is on the Duck Pond.

Tony Marshall has been cleaning up of late in the Newark open matches, and he made it a double success with back to back victories.
