Top two to do battle in cup final repeat

The Newark and District Double Board Darts League’s Men’s Knockout Cup final will be a repeat of last season’s showpiece after both finalists came through their semi-finals in style.
Railway Club 45s will be contesting a remarkable tenth consecutive cup final after they saw off the challenge of the Newark Working Men’s Club Lads.

Nev Squires’ 32 finish put the cup holders ahead before they were pegged back by Adrian Thompson’s 16 checkout in the second leg.

But a further 32 finish from Squires and two more from Paul Gallacher, who also hit his second 130 of the season, steered the 45s home with a 4-1 victory.

The Horse and Gears Baa-Baas cantered home in their match against the Staythorpe Sureshots.
