Junior member Alex Clarricoates showed the men the way when he won the Rayner Trophy at Newark Golf Club.
The 18-year-old won the trophy — a wooden putter — by scoring a superb nett score of 67.

Clarricoates, who has played for the club in the Nottinghamshire Inter-Club Scratch League, reduced his playing handicap from four to three.

Three bogies were offset by three birdies and 12 pars as he returned a level par 71 gross.

Paul Farquharson took second place on countback from the 2008 winner, Alex Whitfield, after they both finished with a nett 68.
