On October 21, 1998, peacefully, in Newark Hospital, Jean Constance, aged 82 years. Jean, of Windsor Road, Newark, outlived husband, Bill, by nine years, and was a loving mother to David, mum to Anne and grandma to Matthew, Natalie and Laura. The service is at 9am today, Friday, October 30, at the Chapel of Rest at E. Gill and Sons, Albert Street. The burial will take place at 2.30pm at Maryport Cemetery, Cumbria. Jean and Bill came to Newark from Manchester in 1954 and were blessed with lovely friends. Jean, for many years secretary of the Townswomens' Guild, also enjoyed the countryside around Newark as a,cyclist, a painter, and a poet. Whilst severely crippled

TILFORD- CROUCH- On October 24, 1998, at St Giles' Church, Balderton, by the Rev W. H. Thackray, Graeme John, son of Mr J. Tilford of Milton Street, Newark, and Mrs J. Tilford of Grantham, and Melanie Deana, daughter of Mr A. Crouch of Summers Court, Newark, and Mrs L. Hill of Scarborough Avenue, Skegness. Given away by her father, the,bride wore satin, pearls and sequins and carried roses. She was attended by Miss Kerry Crouch, Miss Amy Baker, Miss Gemma Baker and Miss Lucy Baker. The best man was Mr Gary Coss. After the service there was a reception at the Maple Leaf, Newark. The couple will live in Balderton, Newark.
